The following table gives a selection of prototype rail sections with their dimensions. It is not exhaustive but does include US (ASCE, ARA, AREA, Dudley and named railroads) in red, UK (BS sections and named railways) in black, Australian & NZ (NZR, NSW, WAGR and AS) (green) and a small number of other sections (including German standards) in blue. The column giving the height in thou gives the code number of the rail for S Scale.
